Taylor Whiteman is an aspiring entrepreneur and loves internet marketing. He has built several well known brands in different industries with thousands of visitors every day. He is a recent college graduate and lives in Newark, Delaware.
Growing up, my family had a house on the Sassafras River in MD. Every fourth of July, my pop pop would wade out into the river and leave a few crab pots, then tie them to shore. Sure enough, we would catch a few dozen crabs and buy a bushel to go with it. Thus, started my love for crabbing.
Today, I am a kayak crabber who can’t pick his favorite spot. I do most of my crabbing in Maryland on the Eastern Shore. I’ve launched my kayak off Taylor’s Island, Quaker Neck Landing on the Chester River, Bellevue Park on the Choptank, and other various spots around Easton, MD.
What’s funny is that this website became a bigger hobby than crabbing itself! I’m so proud that thousands of people visit this website every month to read what I have to say about catching and cooking crabs.
Since starting this website in August 2018, over 1 million people have visited Crabbing Hub to explore different crabbing spots, read my step-by-step guides, and share their love for crabbing.
Building websites has become a big hobby of mine. This site is what started my love for SEO and internet marketing. I’ve since started several other brands and social media presences. If you’re interested, feel free to check them out:

Some Pictures from Recent Crabbing Trips
I’m gonna share a few crabbing trips I’ve gone on recently, show some pictures, and what methods I tried.
Choptank River, June 17, 2023
Back in June, I tried a new spot. Just outside Easton is the town of Bellevue, which has a small park and boat launch next to its ferry with nearby Oxford. There’s a nice beach there where I launched my kayak and set a handful of collapsible traps.
I’ve never been to this spot before, but I loved it! I was a nice day. The people launching their boats were very friendly and relaxed. I was able to find a nice spot to kayak back and forth and pull traps. The water here is pretty shallow and has a lot of river grass.
I caught around 12 keepers over 3 hours. I used chicken necks I bought from Sarge’s Bait & Tackle on Route 213.
